Why are simple products good?
You have to deeply understand the essence of a product in order to be able to get rid of the parts that are not essential.posted by: Paul Robbins
Castool leads the industry in the development of new technology for shot sleeve temperature control. A thermal control unit is used to manage the temperature and flow rate of the medium (water or oil) being used to control the shot sleeve temperatures.
- Castool offers an effective, economical and re-useable Pour End Cooling Jacket
Castool provides an easily removed and replaced split wear insert that economically prolongs the operating life of the shot sleeve.
Castool's shot sleeve lubrication system ensures complete coverage at minimum cost
- Vaporization over entire surface
- Constant lubricant dosage
- Programmable lube cycle
- Longer Sleeve Life
Heating and cooling with oil achieves minimum temperature differential.
- Eliminate plunger seizing
- Increase consistency of shot velocities
The unique design of the Castool plunger tip provides superior heat transfer, and therefore unmatched cooling and dimensional stability.
- Unique tip features a tempered steel head for strength, plus a body of beryllium copper for its excellent thermal conductivity
- Reusable stainless steel tip
- Bayonet-type quick release coupling
The flexible split wear ring floats freely in a groove machined near the front of the plunger tip. It can be readily removed and replaced with a special hand tool.
- Expands to meet any changing diameter or contour of the shot sleeve
- Eliminates flash
- Shot speeds are consistent
To maintain consistent thermal and dimensional control of the plunger tip, it is necessary to closely manage the flow of cooling water through the plunger during the casting cycle.
- An adequate flow of coolant through the shot rod is essential
A major cause of scrap in die casting is porosity. Porosity in castings can be minimized by the use of an effective vacuum system.
- Larger and thinner castings can be made by smaller machines
- Valve preventive maintenance is now often not required until after at least 25,000 shots
For high integrity casting where low or no porosity is required, the metal activated vacuum valve has no equal. It is virtually unbreakable even under extreme conditions, and maintenance is minimal.
- Closes reliably in less than 3 milliseconds
